MOV : ദാവീദ് രാമയിലെ നയ്യോത്തിൽനിന്നു ഓടി യോനാഥാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: ഞാൻ എന്തു ചെയ്തു? എന്റെ കുറ്റം എന്തു? നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുവാൻ അന്വേഷിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനോടു ഞാൻ ചെയ്ത പാപം എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
KJV : And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what [is] mine iniquity? and what [is] my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
YLT : And David fleeth from Naioth in Ramah, and cometh, and saith before Jonathan, `What have I done? what [is] mine iniquity? and what my sin before thy father, that he is seeking my life?`
RV : And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
RSV : Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, "What have I done? What is my guilt? And what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?"
ASV : And David fled from Naioth in Ramah, and came and said before Jonathan, What have I done? what is mine iniquity? and what is my sin before thy father, that he seeketh my life?
ESV : Then David fled from Naioth in Ramah and came and said before Jonathan, "What have I done? What is my guilt? And what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?"
ERVEN : David ran away from the camps at Ramah and went to Jonathan and asked him, "What have I done wrong? What is my crime? Why is your father trying to kill me?"

MOV : അവൻ അവനോടു: അങ്ങനെ ഭവിക്കരുതേ, നീ മരിക്കയില്ല; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതെ വലുതോ ചെറുതോ യാതൊന്നും ചെയ്‍വാറില്ല; പിന്നെ ഈ കാര്യം എന്നെ മറെപ്പാൻ സംഗതി എന്തു? അങ്ങനെ വരികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And he said unto him, God forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father will do nothing either great or small, but that he will shew it me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it [is] not [so. ]
YLT : And he saith to him, `Far be it! thou dost not die; lo, my father doth not do anything great or small and doth not uncover mine ear; and wherefore doth my father hide from me this thing? this [thing] is not.`
RV : And he said unto him, God forbid; thou shalt not die: behold, my father doeth nothing either great or small, but that he discloseth it unto me: and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so.
RSV : And he said to him, "Far from it! You shall not die. Behold, my father does nothing either great or small without disclosing it to me; and why should my father hide this from me? It is not so."
ASV : And he said unto him, Far from it; thou shalt not die: behold, my father doeth nothing either great or small, but that he discloseth it unto me; and why should my father hide this thing from me? it is not so.
ESV : And he said to him, "Far from it! You shall not die. Behold, my father does nothing either great or small without disclosing it to me. And why should my father hide this from me? It is not so."
ERVEN : Jonathan answered, "That can't be true! My father isn't trying to kill you. My father doesn't do anything without first telling me. It doesn't matter how important it is, my father always tells me. Why would my father refuse to tell me that he wants to kill you? No, it is not true!"

MOV : ദാവീദ് പിന്നെയും അവനോടു: എന്നോടു നിനക്കു പ്രിയമാകുന്നുവെന്നു നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ നല്ലവണ്ണം അറികയാൽ യോനാഥാൻ ദുഃഖിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവൻ ഇതു ഗ്രഹിക്കരുതു എന്നു അവൻ വിചാരിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവയാണ, നിന്നാണ, എനിക്കും മരണത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ ഒരടി അകലം മാത്രമേയുള്ളു എന്നു സത്യംചെയ്തു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly [as] the LORD liveth, and [as] thy soul liveth, [there is] but a step between me and death.
YLT : And David sweareth again, and saith, `Thy father hath certainly known that I have found grace in thine eyes, and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved; and yet, Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, but -- as a step between me and death.`
RV : And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father knoweth well that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
RSV : But David replied, "Your father knows well that I have found favor in your eyes; and he thinks, `Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.' But truly, as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death."
ASV : And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father knoweth well that I have found favor in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as Jehovah liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
ESV : But David vowed again, saying, "Your father knows well that I have found favor in your eyes, and he thinks, 'Do not let Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved.' But truly, as the LORD lives and as your soul lives, there is but a step between me and death."
ERVEN : But David answered, "Your father knows very well that I am your friend. Your father said to himself, 'Jonathan must not know about it. If he knows, he will tell David.' But as surely as you and the Lord are alive, I am very close to death."

MOV : അപ്പോൾ യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു: നിന്റെ ആഗ്രഹം എന്തു? ഞാൻ അതു ചെയ്തുതരും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do [it] for thee.
YLT : And Jonathan saith to David, `What doth thy soul say? -- and I do it for thee.`
RV : Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.
RSV : Then said Jonathan to David, "Whatever you say, I will do for you."
ASV : Then said Jonathan unto David, Whatsoever thy soul desireth, I will even do it for thee.
ESV : Then Jonathan said to David, "Whatever you say, I will do for you."
ERVEN : Jonathan said to David, "I will do anything you want me to do."

MOV : ദാവീദ് യോനാഥാനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: നാളെ അമാവാസ്യയാകുന്നു; ഞാനും രാജാവിനോടുകൂടെ പന്തിഭോജനത്തിന്നു ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതല്ലോ; എങ്കിലും മറ്റെന്നാൾ വൈകുന്നേരംവരെ വയലിൽ ഒളിച്ചിരിപ്പാൻ എനിക്കു അനുവാദം തരേണം.
KJV : And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to morrow [is] the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third [day] at even.
YLT : And David saith unto Jonathan, `Lo, the new moon [is] to-morrow; and I do certainly sit with the king to eat; and thou hast sent me away, and I have been hidden in a field till the third evening;
RV : And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.
RSV : David said to Jonathan, "Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit at table with the king; but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field till the third day at evening.
ASV : And David said unto Jonathan, Behold, to-morrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat: but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field unto the third day at even.
ESV : David said to Jonathan, "Behold, tomorrow is the new moon, and I should not fail to sit at table with the king. But let me go, that I may hide myself in the field till the third day at evening.
ERVEN : Then David said, "Look, tomorrow is the New Moon celebration. I am supposed to eat with the king, but let me hide in the field until the evening.

MOV : നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ എന്നെ കാണാഞ്ഞിട്ടു അന്വേഷിച്ചാൽ: ദാവീദ് സ്വന്തപട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിലേക്കു ഒന്നു പോയിവരേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്നോടു താല്പര്യമായി അനുവാദം ചോദിച്ചു; അവന്റെ കുലത്തിന്നെല്ലാം അവിടെ വർഷാന്തരയാഗം ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണം.
KJV : If thy father at all miss me, then say, David earnestly asked [leave] of me that he might run to Bethlehem his city: for [there is] a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
YLT : if thy father at all look after me, and thou hast said, David asked earnestly of me to run to Beth-Lehem his city, for a sacrifice of the days [is] there for all the family.
RV : If thy father miss me at all, then say, David earnestly asked leave of me that he might run to Beth-lehem his city: for it is the yearly sacrifice there for all the family.
RSV : If your father misses me at all, then say, `David earnestly asked leave of me to run to Bethlehem his city; for there is a yearly sacrifice there for all the family.'

ERVEN : If your father notices I am gone, tell him, 'David wanted to go home to Bethlehem. His family is having its own feast for this monthly sacrifice. David asked me to let him run down to Bethlehem and join his family.'

MOV : കൊള്ളാമെന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞാൽ അടിയന്നു ശുഭം; അല്ല, കോപിച്ചാൽ: അവൻ ദോഷം നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളേണം.
KJV : If he say thus, [It is] well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be very wroth, [then] be sure that evil is determined by him.
YLT : If thus he say: Good; peace [is] for thy servant; and if it be very displeasing to him -- know that the evil hath been determined by him;
RV : If he say thus, It is well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be wroth, then know that evil is determined by him.
RSV : If he says, `Good!' it will be well with your servant; but if he is angry, then know that evil is determined by him.
ASV : If he say thus, It is well; thy servant shall have peace: but if he be wroth, then know that evil is determined by him.
ESV : If he says, 'Good!' it will be well with your servant, but if he is angry, then know that harm is determined by him.
ERVEN : If your father says, 'Fine,' then I am safe. But if your father becomes angry, you will know that he wants to hurt me.

MOV : എന്നാൽ അങ്ങുന്നു അടിയനോടു ദയ ചെയ്യേണം; അടിയനുമായി യഹോവയെ സാക്ഷിയാക്കി സഖ്യത ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ; വല്ല കുറ്റവും എന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിലോ അങ്ങുന്നു തന്നേ എന്നെ കൊല്ലുക; അപ്പന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എന്നെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ എന്തൊരാവശ്യം?
KJV : Therefore thou shalt deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: notwithstanding, if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
YLT : and thou hast done kindness, to thy servant, for into a covenant of Jehovah thou hast brought thy servant with thee; -- and if there is in me iniquity, put thou me to death; and unto thy father, why is this -- thou dost bring me in?`
RV : Therefore deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of the LORD with thee: but if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
RSV : Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a sacred covenant with you. But if there is guilt in me, slay me yourself; for why should you bring me to your father?"
ASV : Therefore deal kindly with thy servant; for thou hast brought thy servant into a covenant of Jehovah with thee: but if there be in me iniquity, slay me thyself; for why shouldest thou bring me to thy father?
ESV : Therefore deal kindly with your servant, for you have brought your servant into a covenant of the LORD with you. But if there is guilt in me, kill me yourself, for why should you bring me to your father?"
ERVEN : Jonathan, be kind to me. I am your servant. You have made an agreement with me before the Lord. If I am guilty, you may kill me yourself, but don't take me to your father."

MOV : അതിന്നു യോനാഥാൻ: അങ്ങനെ നിനക്കു വരാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; എന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിനക്കു ദോഷം വരുത്തുവാൻ നിർണ്ണയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞാൽ നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
KJV : And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I knew certainly that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?
YLT : And Jonathan saith, `Far be it from thee! for I certainly do not know that the evil hath been determined by my father to come upon thee, and I do not declare it to thee.`
RV : And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee: for if I should at all know that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?
RSV : And Jonathan said, "Far be it from you! If I knew that it was determined by my father that evil should come upon you, would I not tell you?"
ASV : And Jonathan said, Far be it from thee; for if I should at all know that evil were determined by my father to come upon thee, then would not I tell it thee?
ESV : And Jonathan said, "Far be it from you! If I knew that it was determined by my father that harm should come to you, would I not tell you?"
ERVEN : Jonathan answered, "No, never! If I learn that my father plans to hurt you, I will warn you."

MOV : ദാവീദ് യോനാഥാനോടു: നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ നിന്നോടു കഠിനമായി ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞാലോ അതു ആർ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
KJV : Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me? or what [if] thy father answer thee roughly?
YLT : And David saith unto Jonathan, `Who doth declare to me? or what [if] thy father doth answer thee sharply?`
RV : Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me if perchance thy father answer thee roughly?
RSV : Then said David to Jonathan, "Who will tell me if your father answers you roughly?"
ASV : Then said David to Jonathan, Who shall tell me if perchance thy father answer thee roughly?
ESV : Then David said to Jonathan, "Who will tell me if your father answers you roughly?"
ERVEN : David said, "Who will warn me if your father says bad things to you?"

MOV : യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു: വരിക, നമുക്കു വയലിലേക്കു പോകാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അവർ ഇരുവരും വയലിലേക്കു പോയി.
KJV : And Jonathan said unto David, Come, and let us go out into the field. And they went out both of them into the field.
YLT : And Jonathan saith unto David, `Come, and we go out into the field;` and they go out both of them into the field.

MOV : പിന്നെ യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ സാക്ഷി: നാളെ ഈ നേരത്തോ മറ്റെന്നാളോ എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ അന്തർഗ്ഗതമറിഞ്ഞു നിനക്കു ഗുണമെന്നു കണ്ടാൽ ഞാൻ ആളയച്ചു നിന്നെ അറിയിക്കാതിരിക്കുമോ?
KJV : And Jonathan said unto David, O LORD God of Israel, when I have sounded my father about to morrow any time, [or] the third [day,] and, behold, [if there be] good toward David, and I then send not unto thee, and shew it thee;
YLT : And Jonathan saith unto David, `Jehovah, God of Israel -- when I search my father, about [this] time to-morrow [or] the third [day], and lo, good [is] towards David, and I do not then send unto thee, and have uncovered thine ear --
RV : And Jonathan said unto David, The LORD, the God of Israel, {cf15i be witness}; when I have sounded my father about this time tomorrow, {cf15i or} the third day, behold, if there be good toward David, shall I not then send unto thee, and disclose it unto thee?
RSV : And Jonathan said to David, "The LORD, the God of Israel, be witness! When I have sounded my father, about this time tomorrow, or the third day, behold, if he is well disposed toward David, shall I not then send and disclose it to you?
ASV : And Jonathan said unto David, Jehovah, the God of Israel, be witness: when I have sounded my father about this time to-morrow, or the third day, behold, if there be good toward David, shall I not then send unto thee, and disclose it unto thee?
ESV : And Jonathan said to David, "The LORD, the God of Israel, be witness! When I have sounded out my father, about this time tomorrow, or the third day, behold, if he is well disposed toward David, shall I not then send and disclose it to you?
ERVEN : Jonathan said to David, "I make this promise before the Lord, the God of Israel. I promise that I will learn how my father feels about you. I will learn if he feels good about you or not. Then, in three days, I will send a message to you in the field.

MOV : എന്നാൽ നിന്നോടു ദോഷം ചെയ്‍വാനാകുന്നു എന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ ഭാവമെങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ അതു നിന്നെ അറിയിച്ചു നീ സമാധാനത്തോടെ പോകേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നെ പറഞ്ഞയക്കാതിരുന്നാൽ യഹോവ യോനാഥാനോടു തക്കവണ്ണവും അധികവും ചെയ്യട്ടെ; യഹോവ എന്റെ അപ്പനോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നതുപോലെ നിന്നോടു കൂടെയും ഇരിക്കുമാറാകട്ടെ.
KJV : The LORD do so and much more to Jonathan: but if it please my father [to do] thee evil, then I will shew it thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
YLT : thus doth Jehovah do to Jonathan, and thus doth He add; when the evil concerning thee is good to my father, then I have uncovered thine ear, and sent thee away, and thou hast gone in peace, and Jehovah is with thee, as he was with my father;
RV : The LORD do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do thee evil, if I disclose it not unto thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and the LORD be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
RSV : But should it please my father to do you harm, the LORD do so to Jonathan, and more also, if I do not disclose it to you, and send you away, that you may go in safety. May the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.
ASV : Jehovah do so to Jonathan, and more also, should it please my father to do thee evil, if I disclose it not unto thee, and send thee away, that thou mayest go in peace: and Jehovah be with thee, as he hath been with my father.
ESV : But should it please my father to do you harm, the LORD do so to Jonathan and more also if I do not disclose it to you and send you away, that you may go in safety. May the LORD be with you, as he has been with my father.
ERVEN : If my father wants to hurt you, I will let you know. I will let you leave in safety. May the Lord punish me if I don't do this. May the Lord be with you as he has been with my father.

MOV : ഞാൻ ഇനി ജീവനോടിരിക്കയാകുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ മരിക്കാതവണ്ണം യഹോവയുടെ ദയ നീ കാണിക്കേണ്ടതു എന്നോടു മാത്രമല്ല;
KJV : And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not:
YLT : and not only while I am alive dost thou do with me the kindness of Jehovah, and I die not,
RV : And thou shalt not only while yet I live shew me the kindness of the LORD, that I die not:
RSV : If I am still alive, show me the loyal love of the LORD, that I may not die;
ASV : And thou shalt not only while yet I live show me the lovingkindness of Jehovah, that I die not;
ESV : If I am still alive, show me the steadfast love of the LORD, that I may not die;
ERVEN : As long as I live, show me the same kindness the Lord does. And if I die, never stop showing this kindness to my family. Be faithful to us, even when the Lord destroys all your enemies from the earth."

MOV : എന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തോടും നിന്റെ ദയ ഒരിക്കലും അറ്റുപോകരുതു; യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളെ ഒട്ടൊഴിയാതെ ഭൂതലത്തിൽനിന്നു ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുംകാലത്തും അറ്റുപോകരുതു.
KJV : But [also] thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
YLT : but thou dost not cut off thy kindness from my house unto the age, nor in Jehovah`s cutting off the enemies of David, each one from off the face of the ground.`
RV : but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever: no, not when the LORD hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
RSV : and do not cut off your loyalty from my house for ever. When the LORD cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth,
ASV : but also thou shalt not cut off thy kindness from my house for ever; no, not when Jehovah hath cut off the enemies of David every one from the face of the earth.
ESV : and do not cut off your steadfast love from my house forever, when the LORD cuts off every one of the enemies of David from the face of the earth."

MOV : ഇങ്ങനെ യോനാഥാൻ ദാവീദിന്റെ ഗൃഹത്തോടെ സഖ്യതചെയ്തു. ദാവീദിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളോടു യഹോവ ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളും.
KJV : So Jonathan made [a covenant] with the house of David, [saying,] Let the LORD even require [it] at the hand of David’s enemies.
YLT : And Jonathan covenanteth with the house of David, and Jehovah hath sought [it] from the hand of the enemies of David;
RV : So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, {cf15i saying}, And the LORD shall require it at the hand of David-s enemies.
RSV : let not the name of Jonathan be cut off from the house of David. And may the LORD take vengeance on David's enemies."
ASV : So Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, And Jehovah will require it at the hand of Davids enemies.
ESV : And Jonathan made a covenant with the house of David, saying, "May the LORD take vengeance on David's enemies."
ERVEN : So Jonathan made this agreement with David and his family, and he asked the Lord to hold them responsible for keeping it.

MOV : യോനാഥാൻ സ്വന്തപ്രാണനെപ്പോലെ ദാവീദിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കയാൽ തന്നോടുള്ള സ്നേഹത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി അവനെക്കൊണ്ടു പിന്നെയും സത്യംചെയ്യിച്ചു.
KJV : And Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
YLT : and Jonathan addeth to cause David to swear, because he loveth him, for with the love of his own soul he hath loved him.
RV : And Jonathan caused David to swear again, for the love that he had to him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul.
RSV : And Jonathan made David swear again by his love for him; for he loved him as he loved his own soul.

ERVEN : Jonathan loved David as himself, and because of this love, he asked David to repeat this agreement for himself.

ERVEN : When the boy left, David came out from his hiding place on the other side of the hill. David gave a formal greeting by bowing to the ground three times to show his respect for Jonathan. But then David and Jonathan kissed each other and cried together. It was a very sad goodbye, especially for David.

KJV : And Jonathan said to David, Go in peace, forasmuch as we have sworn both of us in the name of the LORD, saying, The LORD be between me and thee, and between my seed and thy seed for ever. And he arose and departed: and Jonathan went into the city.
